Building Bridges with Parents
Principal's Corner
Dear Parents,
At the outset, we would like to subtly apologise for the delay in bringing out the second edition of our school’s bi-monthly magazine, च ोदय (Chandrodaya). The past months have been exceptionally eventful at CMA, and we have been diligently working to compile all the highlights into this special issue.
The purpose of च ोदय (Chandrodaya) has always been to foster a deep sense of community, while showcasing the achievements, activities, and events—both academic and extracurricular—that shape the vibrant life our students experience at Chanderbala Modi Academy. It is our sincere endeavour to capture the essence of school life and share it with all of you, making sure that no milestone goes unnoticed.
I kindly request all parents to actively engage with च ोदय, not only by reading the magazine but also by sharing feedback and contributing to its success. Together, we can create a vibrant and inclusive school community where every child thrives, and every parent feels a valued partner in this shared journey. Thank you for your unwavering support and partnership in making CMA a nurturing and flourishing environment for our children.
With kind regards,
Ramjee Nagarajan
Principal Chanderbala Modi Academy
In addition to presenting the exciting journey of our students, we would like to extend an invitation to you, dear parents, to take an active part in the forthcoming issues of च ोदय. We believe that our school is a collective effort, and your insights, feedback, and aspirations are integral to our growth. Therefore, we request you to contribute one articles where you share your thoughts—whether they be about the areas you’d like CMA to excel in, your reflections on school activities, or simply your experience as a part of our community.
Dear Parents,
As your child prepares for the upcoming board examinations, it is essential that they follow a structured approach to ensure that they not only perform well but also maintain their mental and physical well-being. The support you provide as a parent plays a pivotal role in this process.
Mental well-being plays a critical role in academic performance. Encourage your child to stay positive. Remind them that consistent effort and a calm approach are key to success. We earnestly request the parents not to set goals for your child on behalf of him/ her. Help your child to identify her/ his potential correctly and help in the process of goal setting but kindly do not impose your desired goal on your child.
Practice relaxation techniques: Techniques like deep breathing, meditation, or mindfulness can significantly reduce exam-related anxiety.
Discuss anxieties: If your child is feeling stressed or anxious, listen to their concerns and provide reassurance. Remind them that it’s okay to ask for help. Assure your child that you love her/ him irrespective of her/ his academic performance and capability. This will boost confidence in your child. And a confident child is always more successful in life than someone who is not. We would like to inform you that the school is offering dedicated doubt-solving and remedial sessions to support your child's learning. These sessions are designed to address any academic challenges your child may face.
We kindly request that you focus on monitoring your child’s study routine at home, ensuring that they are staying on track with their studies. Your cooperation in creating a disciplined study environment at home will greatly contribute to your child's performance.
Below are some key guidelines for effective exam preparation:
1. Follow a Balanced Timetable: Help your child create a timetable that covers all subjects and allows extra focus on weak areas. Include regular short breaks—10- 15 minutes after 1.5 to 2 hours of study—to avoid burnout.
2. End-of-Day Revision: Ensure your child spends 30 minutes revising the day’s work before bed. Focus on weak areas and allocate extra time as needed.
3. Set Achievable Goals: Break down larger topics into smaller sections. Setting small, realistic goals for each session can boost confidence and maintain motivation.
4. Prioritize Sleep and Physical Well-being: Ensure your child gets 7-8 hours of sleep and has a fixed sleep schedule. Encourage physical activities like walking or yoga to reduce stress and maintain energy. A balanced diet with proteins, fruits, and vegetables supports brain function.
5. Minimize Distractions: Create a quiet, well-lit study area free of distractions for focused study time. However, if the child is not so focused, then do not let the child sit alone to study. If possible, the child should be made to sit with either parent. If required the child may be made to sit in the kitchen or dining area under the supervision of the mother.
6. Practice Time Management During Mock Tests
It is essential for your child to practice under timed conditions to develop effective time management skills during the exam. Make sure they: Take mock tests regularly to get accustomed to the pattern and time constraints.
7. Encourage Positive Reinforcement
Positive reinforcement can help boost your child’s confidence and motivate them to continue putting in their best effort.
