The Power of Positive Self-Image
Principal's Corner
Here are a few simple strategies, inspired by these principles, that can be practised at home:
Celebrate uniqueness: Help children appreciate their individuality and view challenges as learning opportunities.
Use positive affirmations: Phrases like “You are capable of…” or “You grow through effort” help reframe self-talk. Model resilience and self-compassion: Children learn most from what they observe. Praise effort over results: Reinforce perseverance, not just achievements. Monitor media influence: Discuss unrealistic portrayals and promote healthy perspectives. Daily practices such as setting small goals, and maintaining open communication, practicing simple mindfulness exercises help reinforce a strong sense of self.
At Chanderbala Modi Academy, we integrate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) across the curriculum to support self-awareness, empathy, and confidence. We value your partnership in extending these lessons into daily life.
I strongly encourage you to read Psycho-Cybernetics—not only as a parent but as an individual. Its insights are timeless, actionable, and deeply relevant in today’s parenting journey.
Together, let us raise children who believe in themselves and approach life with courage and grace.
Warm regards,
Ramjee Nagarajan
Principal
Chanderbala Modi Academy
Dear Parents,
In today’s rapidly evolving world, children face countless influences that shape how they view themselves. Now, more than ever, helping them develop a healthy self-image is essential to their academic success, emotional well-being, and social development. As primary role models, your influence in reinforcing this self-belief is both powerful and profound.
Self-image refers to the inner portrait each child holds of themselves—their capabilities, worth, and place in the world. A positive self-image instils confidence, motivates effort, and fosters resilience. Conversely, a poor self-image can lead to self-doubt and hesitation. So how can we, as caring adults, help nurture a mindset that uplifts and empowers?
One highly recommended resource is Psycho-Cybernetics by Dr. Maxwell Maltz. This transformative book explores how altering our internal beliefs can profoundly shape our external realities. Dr. Maltz likens the mind to a “goal-striving mechanism” and encourages readers to visualise success, dismantle limiting beliefs, and build empowering mental habits. Its insights are especially relevant for parents looking to guide their children with both wisdom and empathy.
Carnival of Joy: A Colourful Celebration of Early Learning at CMA
Ankleshwar : 4th April 2025
Childhood is the most beautiful of all life's seasons—at CMA, we celebrate it with colour, creativity, and curiosity!
The campus of Chanderbala Modi Academy buzzed with laughter, colour, and excitement as it opened its doors to parents, children, friends, and extended families for the much-anticipated Pre-Primary Carnival 2025. Designed to showcase the dynamic and joyful world of learning that defines our Nursery to Sr. KG programme, the event turned the school grounds into a wonderland of discovery and delight.
As families entered under a canopy of festive colours and laughter, they were welcomed into a world where learning takes the form of play, wonder, and creative exploration. Each zone of the carnival was thoughtfully curated to reflect the school’s commitment to holistic, hands-on learning. Guests were immersed in activities ranging from puppet storytelling and shadow art to rocket building and traditional games, offering an authentic glimpse into how young learners at CMA grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally.
Decorated with festive themes and interactive zones, the carnival offered an immersive experience that beautifully captured the essence of early childhood education at CMA—one that is playful, purposeful, and full of possibilities

Children fluttered through the “Butterfly Bliss” area, joyfully symbolising their transformation and growth, while the “Circus Fun” corner echoed with giggles as children and parents played ring toss, juggled balloons, and spun wheels of fortune. The “Celestial Pioneers” section inspired budding scientists to build rockets and trace constellations, transporting everyone into a space-themed adventure. Meanwhile, the vibrant “Tarnetar Mela” brought a traditional flair, with mehendi designs, satodiyo games, jewellery making, and umbrella decoration blending culture with creativity in the most heartwarming way.

One of the most enchanting experiences was the Shadow Play area, where children and adults guessed shadows, created silhouette art, and listened to imaginative puppet stories. The entire event was dotted with themed selfie zones, turning fun-filled moments into lasting memories. Parents also had the opportunity to interact with teachers, explore classrooms, and experience firsthand how CMA nurtures a joyful and meaningful approach to education.Adding a delicious twist to the day was the “CMA Little Chef” corner, where young culinary artists teamed up with their parents for exciting no-fire cooking experiences. From layering colourful sandwiches to assembling fruit skewers and sweet treats, it was a hands-on celebration of teamwork, taste, and tiny talents at work. The pride on the children’s faces as they served their creations was matched only by the joy of the parents sharing in the experience.
“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”
The carnival wasn’t just an event—it was a celebration of learning, family, and community. It reminded everyone present that education in the early years is not confined to books and blackboards, but lives in stories, games, art, science, and love. As families left with handcrafted souvenirs, beaming smiles, and hearts full of memories, the message was clear: at CMA, learning begins with wonder, and every child’s journey is a beautiful story waiting to unfold.
